Part of the over hand processed batch i recently did from The Growlers east coast tour, the clips are from Atlantic Beach & St. Augustine Florida, as well as Jonesey on the road through Louisiana, and surfing in remote Surfside, Texas. The 16mm film used was dated 2003 and it was a total surprise to me how it turned out. “Jonesey’s Bowl” Is an old Growler tune from their Greatest Shits album. Jonesey is such a great roaddog and i knew after this trip i wanted to make a film short starring her, so here it is.

Tomorrows Tulips – “spacebox”
HEres a short shot while on tour with Tomorrows tulips in Atlanta, Georgia. Wanted to make a short docuvideo of Al and Christina from the 4 days we spent together on tour. Used a long expired AGFA 400 speed 16mm film for this, learned more about range in low light with the 400 sp film. IT was almost a perfect roadtrip, and had a great time spending it with one of the worlds great surf stylist Alex Knost.
Growlers East Coast Tour!
THis shot was taken of The Growlers in Saint Augustine, Florida. Had the time to meet up with the boys in Jacksonville and jumped in the new bus “Lizzy” and finished out the 35 day tour all the way back to Growlers compound in Costa Mesa. The tour went really well for the boys, they went all the way up to Toronto (first show in Canada), then back down through NY down the country into florida. Shot as much 16mm film as possible and took a Leica 35mm ‘point and shoot’ camera, this B/W picture was taken with that camera and it is a picture of all 6 members and band dog, “Jones” together.
Hula Hula Hideout
This was a roll of film shot prior to going on tour with “THe Growlers” for their 3rd and final tour of 2010. The song is off the new EP Hot Tropics, this is the third film short used for that album (What it IS & Sea Lion Goth). The 16mm film was hand processed and there is no digital effects used in the video. It was shot in Newport Beach, Huntington, and Costa Mesa. I walked about a mile to take the pictures of the transient man.

“Watching Water” documentary
Jo Tyrell is making a surf documentary “Watching Water”, this is a mini trailer that she has put together. It is about surfing and what makes surfers stoked. It covers normal everyday-Joe surfers as well as pros who get paid money to live the dream of a traveling surfer. Good luck on the edit Jo.
