Its Ozzie week here at HAPPY BEACH HQ. Ozzie on a borrowed board surfing and skating in NY and Newport. His wife Miley and son Rocky also make small cameos. the song is by Ozzie and his new side project band called The Tractor Beams.

HEre is the film I was saving for this moment. A Fall Into SOmewhere is a 31min film shot for ALex’s new signature line for RVCA. It was a 9 day road trip to San Francisco and stars ALex Knost, Ford Archbold, Christina Kee, and Tanner Prairie. The music is all done by Alex as well, so it has a focused flow throughout, much like his surfing and art. SHot with super 8 and 16mm, there is some hand processed 16 in this film that has a sepia tone to it, this roll of film was my favorite part of making this piece.

So the first issue is out for What Youth, went to the release party and got my hands on the new issue that just came out after raging to live music, tall modellesk chicks, & some serious brodowns. Outragiously nice paper was used for the printing of the mag and it has some great photos of Dane, Craig ANderson, CHippa, Mitch, etc etc. I really like the photos of the inbetween moments like a cup of coffee amongst a world of bags and luggage, shit like that awkward travel shit. Some pretty high end stuff went down with the production of the magazine. thanks Kai for makin it happen. I can speak for alot of surf junkies, we never get sick of seeing beautiful surf destinations with blue water and idilic backdrops! They through in a few screen shots i did along with photos from Dion Agius, Blake Myers, Nate Lawrence, & Stu Gibson on the same page. stoked those r rad dudes.

So shot some 8x10s yesterday at the studio and hand processed the film, to very dismal results. I did em in a bucket and just hoped for the best and got well, not the best, but im stoked on the results for the test, I at least got an image so thats good.This is how they turned out when i pulled them out of the buckets and stuck them up against our glass front door, and took a picture of it, kinda like an xray but really crappy quality. It is Brooks Nielsen and Matt Taylor of the Growlers dressed as rasta men before we went and shot video short for an upcoming tour into Northern California.

Stopped by Droids today like any other day, but brought a Polaroid land camera that i got some film from a recent camera show. Here is a few portraits of the boys, with a flower that i took in the side yard. Andrew Doheny, Thom Pringle, & Ford Archbold. Gotta make the days go by when the surf is flat. Soon after these photos were taken, we played drinking games and got lap dances from some crazy Riverside chick, shit got weird!

Ozzie Wright was guest editor for this months French Magazine called Disillution. Ozzie was kind enough to introduce my photo story into the magazine. I was completely blown away when i recieved a copy of the mag! It had such good content, with great photography and splendid writing. My section was called “I LIke Mistakes”, and was an interview done by freelance surf journalist Micheal Kew of Santa Barbara. Thanks Desillusion Mag and Ozzie for letting me be a part of the issue!
