Wow, didnt see this coming. So Friday the waves were pumping and I was on a film mission to Lowers with Beau Foster & Thom Pringle, to be exact I was phyched to shoot when we saw perfect lowers surf. We pull up to the dropoff point at approximately 1:55, when i asked a kid waiting he told me the lowers raid was about to happen, starting at 2 and going til 4. Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!!
It was almost as good as lowers gets and we decided to not go down til after the festivities, and went to Oceanside for the descent surf. Here is the scene that we werent apart of fortunately. What a bummer the raid had to happen when the waves were really really good. But it sure as hell is funny, and gotta respect the locals.
We later got down to the waves and it was all but over except a few staying out as long as they could catching numerous waves on soft tops in their costumes. By that time the swell dropped a bit and we missed the best of it, but thats how it goes in filmmaking.
